Faye Black – Obituary

Faye Faye Black, 88, died Saturday, February 01, 2014, at Golden Living Center after a lengthy illness. She was born June 26, 1925, in the Evergreen Community to Kavanaugh and Velora Gregory Wood. She was a Human Resource Assistant for Aircap for 37 years. She was a longtime member of Shannon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and working in her yard. She was very family oriented and never missed her children’s ballgames.

Services will be 1 PM Monday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include her son, Terry Black (Belinda); two grandchildren, Whitney Black and Laurie Bishop (Braden) all of Tupelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd A. “Jack” Black; one son, Robert Wood Black and one brother, Jimmy L. Wood.

Pallbearers will be Whitney Black, Braden Bishop, Jimmy Cayson, Stevie Humble, Bennie Mack Waddle, Mike Black, Jim Carter and Bob Lehman.

Visitation will be 2 – 4 Sunday and 12 – 1 Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harrisburg Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry.
