Faye Andersen passed away after a short illness on Sunday evening September 15, 2013, surrounded by loving family. Born November 14, 1931, in Selma, she was preceded in death by her parents, Barney C. Cook and Annie Stringer Cook Robinson; brother, Calvin; sister, Bunia Eunora (Cook) Beach; and son, Keith. Faye is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Meg (Tom) Pruitt, Pat (James) Rice and Mary (Drew) Hill as well as grandchildren, Abby and Thacker Rice, Stephanie (James)Andrews, Jenny (Tim) Harmon, Jacob (Nicole) Lamar, Emma and Jackson Pruitt; and brothers, Ray (Betty) Cook, Barney (Ruth) Cook and David (Carla) Smith. She had three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A woman of deep faith who became a Catholic at the time of her marriage, Faye raised her children in the church and was a longtime member of Our Lady of Sorrows. She loved to read books and sing. She held together many circles of long term friends. Visitation is Thursday, September 19, 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1730 Oxmoor Road, Birmingham, AL 35209, with funeral Mass immediately following. Graveside service is at 3:30 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 709 Memorial Dr. SW, Decatur, AL 35601. A reception will follow for anyone who wants to attend at 4:30 p.m. at Burningtree Country Club at 2521 Burningtree Dr., SE, Decatur, AL.
