Funeral service for Farris Franklin Hughes, 84, will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Raburn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Hughes died on Monday, September 2, 2024 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born August 12, 1940, in Lawrence County, to Clarence Alford Hughes and Leeth Mae McCormick Hughes.
He was employed at Baker Wood Reels, as a foreman, prior to his retirement.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Geraldine Hughes, a son: John Michael Hughes, his parents, two brothers: James and William Hughes and a sister: Virginia Hughes Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Jason Edge, Claude Edge, Willard Asherbranner, Rex Asherbranner, David Crowe and Terry Whittenberg.
