Fannie Mae Johnson Falkenberry, age 81, of New Market, died on Thursday August 14, 2014.
Mrs. Falkenberry was born on January 9, 1933 in Tuscaloosa County Alabama. She was the valedictorian of the last graduating class of Rison High School in 1951 and a faithful member of Epworth UMC. Mrs. Falkenberry was an outstanding homemaker and cook. She was a volunteer for her church and at school. Mrs. Falkenberry was also an expert seamstress and quilter. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Milton and Martha Blagburn Johnson; one brother and two sisters.
Mrs. Falkenberry is survived by her husband, Gene W. “Beany” Falkenberry; her children, Sandra Leigh and husband Tilden, Kelley Kilgore, Guy Falkenberry and wife Laurie, and Scott Falkenberry and wife Kami; her sisters, Francis Slayton and Shirley Petty; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Saturday August 16, 2014 at 12 pm at Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Stringfellow and Rev. Charles Betts officiating. Her body will lie in state at the church from 11am until 12pm. Burial will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the the church on Friday August 15th from 5pm until 7pm.
