The family of Fannie L. Lamons lost a wonderful mother at her home on Friday Aug. 13, 2021. Fannie was born in Marshall County, AL. to Howard and Ellen Lamons on Dec. 13, 1965. She attended J.O. Johnson High School until 1982 and later earned her diploma at Cornerstone Christian Academy in 2016. She devoted her life to her children, leaving her position at Martin Industries when their father passed away in 2002. Although she never wanted to be the center of attention, family and all the children of her neighborhood would come to her home so they could sit and talk or if they needed something to drink and she would always enjoy visits from old faces. She was a mother to anyone needing advice or a place to sit and take a load off. Fannie enjoyed the outdoors, seeing new places, having a good laugh and was always there when someone was in need and would always talk about her children with a twinkle in her eye.
She is survived by her four children Deborah Ann Matthews of Huntsville, John David Matthews and spouse Cristy of Harvest, Bradley Carlton Holmes Matthews and fiance Kara of Huntsville and Briana Marie Matthews and spouse Tyson of Harvest. Eight grandchildren with three that always wanted to stay at grandma’s house: Maria, Cameron, and Jackson. Four sisters: Norene, Cherry, Helen,and Kathy. Four brothers; Billy, Marvin,Johnny and Edgel and her fiance William Braggs. Two special nieces Kimberly and Stephanie Lamons and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Howard Lamons Sr, her mother Ellen A. Lamons and one sister Faustine who died at infancy.
The family of Fannie L. Lamons wish to keep her arrangements private to only family and close friends.
We love you Momma. Nothing will ever be the same without you. I already miss those late-night talks at the kitchen table.
