Mrs. Eyvonne McClendon Rich, age 94, of Southside passed away Monday, July 24, 2023. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with Lauil Thompson officiating. Special music by Bill Drummons. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rich was a native and resident of Etowah County. She was a longtime faithful member of Southside Baptist Church and was the first female rural mail carrier. Mrs. Rich took great pride in her needlepoint and cross stitch. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clyde Rich, son Dennis Rich, parents, Wallace and Pearlie McClendon, brothers and sisters, Helen Wood, Frances Brothers, Charles McClendon, Everett McClendon, Jo Strong and Jasper McClendon.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Rich (Mike) Wilcutt; daughter-in-law, Tracy Rich; grandchildren, Barry (Tracey) Dale, Tammy (Nathan) Patterson, Michelle (Thomas) Hunt, Melissa (Matt) Dale, Brittney Rich and Carly Rich, great grandchildren, Natalie (Devin) Freeman, Evan Patterson, Jackson Dale, Hannah Dale, Lauren Hunt, Lynnsey Hunt, Jacob Davis, Andrew Davis and Sara Grace Davis, as well as, a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Hunt, Nathan Patterson, Matt Davis, Jackson Dale, Jacob Davis and Evan Patterson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her special caregivers and the staff with ProHealth Hospice.
