ATHENS-The Athens Grease Festival Returns October 19 in Downtown Athens, Alabama. Come and celebrate all things battered and fried from eleven am until seven pm. Our “Extra Crispy” celebration will be enhanced with a “Special Sauce” of beer and wine that is new to the festival this year! Tickets are only five dollars and proceeds will support the Athens Main Street organization.
Music will begin at noon with a fantastic line up of entertaining area bands. Kaleidoscope hails from Huntsville Alabama bringing classic rock sounds with a Southern flair! Their sound is a mesh of some of your favorite seventies and eighties rock bands. Hear Kaleidoscope at the Grease Festival beginning at noon!
Lamont Landers is an Alabama born artist whose soul filled tunes will be
entertaining our festival this year. Landers’ music is heavily influenced by his Southern background making him a perfect fit to headline the Athens Grease Festival! Landers became an overnight YouTube hit and went on to compete against other artists on America’s Got Talent! His performance at Showtime at the Apollo propelled his career to new heights. Catch Lamont Landers and his band this year at the Athens Grease Festival starting at one pm.
Lindsey Hinkle is an Alabama native whose sound is heavily influenced by artists like Dolly Parton, Patty Griffin and John Mayer. Winning awards all over the South for her lyrical abilities, Lindsey has a sound and experience that is beyond her years. Hinkle is bringing her folk like sound to the Grease Festival stage on October 19th starting at 2 pm.
Coming straight from our hometown is Trippin’ Dixie! With musical recreations from Prince all the way to Chris Stapleton you are sure to be entertained. Recently Trippin’ Dixie was honored to play alongside one of Alabama’s most prized groups, Alabama Shakes! Come hear Trippin’ Dixie at 3 pm on the Grease Festival Stage!
Seeking Babylon is an all-female group coming from Huntsville, Alabama! This trio is sure to delight you with their unique and special sound. Hear them at the Grease Festival at 4 pm.
The Redeemers are yet another band from our great hometown! This Athens based group sings tunes from all generations and genres. Come check them out at the Grease Festival at 5 pm.
The Prescriptions will be taking the stage at the Grease Festival starting at 6 pm. Birmingham born band leader Hays Ragsdale moved to Nashville to hone his creative sound and teamed up with other Birmingham natives to create The Prescriptions. With a folk sound that is like no other, you are sure to be delighted with their unique songs. Come and hear them close out a great day at the Athens Grease Festival!
