Explosion Was A Warehouse Storing Butane And Nitrous Oxide; No Injuries Reported

TUSCUMBIA– According to authorities n the scene of the explosion in Tuscumbia this morning  was caused by butane and  other volatile chemicals exploded. There was one large explosion and several smaller ones sending debris and shrapnel hundreds of feet from the initial explosion.

It has been reported that the plant housed nearly a million dollars worth chemicals including butane and pressurised whipped cream chargers, known as ‘whippits’ which is an available source of nitrous oxide.

Law and fire officials are on the scene and working toward determination of the cause of the explosions. According to investigators at this time no injuries have been reported.

Law Enforcement is asking residents to avoid the area as emergency personnel are still assessing the damage and securing the site.
