The concert will feature a powerhouse lineup of renowned artists, including Darryl Worley, Georgette Jones, Lenny LeBlanc, Bradley Walker, and Mark “Muleman” Massey, with Billy Lawson & Wishbone. These talented musicians will perform some of Montgomery’s most celebrated songs.
“We’re thrilled to have such top-notch talent at The Ritz to celebrate this legendary songwriter. We’re preparing for a capital campaign to renovate this nearly century-old venue, and this high-profile concert allows us to share the beauty and potential of the historic Ritz Theatre with music lovers from across the region,” said Christi Britten, Tennessee Valley Museum of Art Executive Director.
Montgomery is a master of his craft, possessing a unique talent for playing and writing music that transcended genres. Montgomery began playing guitar at a young age and quickly developed a passion for songwriting. Over the course of his career, he wrote numerous hits for country music legends like George Jones, Dolly Parton, and Tammy Wynette. However, his musical ability extended far beyond country, and he was equally skilled across multiple genres. Montgomery’s versatility as a musician and songwriter allowed him to collaborate with artists across a wide range of styles and helped shape the sound of the Muscle Shoals music scene. His contributions to the industry are immeasurable, and his legacy lives on through the countless songs he wrote and the musicians he inspired.
“We’re thrilled to host the Peanutt Montgomery Tribute Concert, which honors the legacy of one of Muscle Shoals’ greatest songwriters,” said Susann Hamlin, Colbert County Tourism President & CEO. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate the unique cultural heritage of our region, and we’re excited to showcase some of the best talents in the industry.”
The tribute concert promises to be an unforgettable night filled with incredible music, powerful vocals, and heartfelt renditions of some of the most iconic songs in country music.
