If you watch because it is always a great time for a party…well this is your day. And if you watch for those pithy commercials ….well of course Sunday is the day. Here are just a few wild, weird, and way-out-there facts you just might find will make your Superbowl Sunday a little more “super”.
On the Monday following the Super Bowl, on average, 6% of the workforce calls out sick. While it is often assumed that people are just faking, in reality, quite a few people are actually sick. Overdoing it with the food, drinks -or both – often causes quite a few people to wake up feeling sick.
AFL Founder and Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt came up with the term when he saw his daughter playing with a popular kid’s toy called a “Super Ball,” in 1967. After the AFL and NFLmerger in June 1966, the two leagues agreed to play a “championship game.” It wasn’t until Super Bowl III (1969) that the term gained popularity and was adopted by the media and football fans.
