Everlene “Mary” Solomon Clark age 86 of Cornersville, TN, left this earth for her mansion in Heaven on July 19, 2024. Her passing has left a void that can never be filled. Mary, as she was known to most, was born in Pulaski, TN, on November 8, 1937, to Roy and Lola Dunnivant Solomon.
She married at the age of sixteen to Luther “LJ” Clark. They spent sixty-seven years together before his death in 2020. Her biggest joy was serving and taking care of all those around her. You certainly didn’t leave their home hungry. LJ and Mary spent many years farming, which she never seemed to tire of. Regardless of the task at hand, she was always at his side. Reading, sewing, quilting, canning and working in her flowers were the things she enjoyed. In the last four years, if you asked her if she wanted to go on an adventure, you better have the car packed and keys in hand. We traveled. We laughed. We loved. Mostly we made priceless, cherished memories. Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. This precious woman that we are celebrating the life of today, loved with everything she had, and she was loved equally in return. In her kind, humble, giving, always concerned about her family above all else ways, she did just that. And through it all she had the sweetest smile on her face and a prayer on her lips.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lola Dunnivant Solomon; husband, Luther “LJ” Clark and siblings, Leroy Solomon, Annie May Kimbrough, Esterlene Steelman, Katie Poarch, John Solomon, Lois Clark and Fred Solomon.
She is survived by her children and greatest joy, Kenneth (Delynn) Clark of Athens, AL, Betty (Andrew) Perry of Lewisburg, TN, Diana Bradford of Priceville, AL, and Lisa Clark of Lewisburg, TN. Grandchildren, Brad (Rebecca) Clark, Melissa (Nicki) Moshier, Keenalyn (Chris) Meinhart, Cody (Brittany) Moshier, Brady (Heather) Clark, Bridget (Keaton) Israel and Madelin Abernathy. Nine great grandchildren with one more on the way and one great great grandchild expected soon; sister, Shirley Barton, brothers-in-law Bobby and Tommy (Paulette) Clark and sister-in-law, best friend and partner in crime, Martha Clark.
We would like to give a special thanks to Debbie Vest for taking such good care of and loving our mom over these past four years while she lived in Alabama. And for all the love, care and assistance her granddaughters Keena and Melissa gave while caring for her during her last days.
Pallbearers are Brad Clark, Cody Moshier, Brady Clark, Will Clark, Jackson Clark, and Keaton Israel. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Meinhart, Thomas Meinhart, and Bryce Moshier.
