Mrs. Evelyn Sue Blake Johnson, 88 of Sand Rock, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at Cherokee Village.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 P.M. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sand Rock United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Paul Johnson; son, Charles Blake (Patti) Johnson of Townsend, TN; sister, Elaine Gillespie of Oviedo, FL; granddaughter, Ellen Johnson (Mitch) McGill; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Cleburne County, the daughter of the late William Mitchell and Hattie McMahan Blake, was a graduate of Auburn University and was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the Sand Rock United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers: Ricky Mackey, Kenneth Johnson, Gary Johnson, Buddy Dowda, Brett Butler, Rusty Jacoway, Bud Mackey and Mitch McGill.
Honorary Pallbearers: Elmer Carver, Kermit Butler, all friends and former students and faculty members.
