Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Evelyn Steele Pollard of Guntersville, AL. Mrs. Pollard passed away October 23, 2022 at Marshall Medical Center in Guntersville, AL. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Joe Pollard. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Edith Steele Davis and a brother, Russell Arlyn Steele. She is survived by her daughter, Tavalene Pollard Keller of Fayetteville; sons, Connies Pollard of Guntersville, AL and Anthony Pollard of Skyline, AL; sister, Patricia Steele Gardner of Huntland. She also leaves 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and “adopted” grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as “Granny”. Mrs. Pollard married her husband, Joe, at the age of 14. She and Joe spent their lives on the chicken farm raising their family. She was a religious fan of dirt track racing. Each Saturday afternoon she could be found traveling from Arab, AL to Winchester, TN to watch racing on the only dirt track around. The family will receive friends Wednesday October 26, 2022 between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Thursday October 27, 2022.
