Evelyn S. Floyd ,93 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023, at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Floyd was born on February 21st, 1930, in Dalton, GA, to Jessie James Souther and Loma Ella Page Souther.
Mrs. Floyd is survived by her sons Mark Floyd (Robyn), Keith Floyd, William Scott Floyd (Kim); grandson Matthew Alan Floyd, Michael Ryan Floyd; 3 great grandchildren; brother Roy Souther; sister Edna Abernathy Douglas; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver Bettye Ivey.
Mrs. Floyd is preceded in death by her parents; husband William (Bill) Floyd; brothers Wilbur Souther, Charlie Souther, and Carl Souther; sisters Ruby Hayes, Lillian Whaley, Pauline Withrow, and Effie Mae Underwood.
Funeral services for Mrs. Floyd will be Saturday, May 27th, 2023, at 2:00pm, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Joe Teal officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00- 1:50pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Floyd was a member of First Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Limestone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their dedication and care.
