Funeral service for Evelyn Prater Steele, 85, will be Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey Shaw officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery (South of Danville). Visitation will be Friday, December 23, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Steele died on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at her residence. She was born July 29, 1931, in Lawrence County to Kelso J. Prater and Gertrude Eddy Prater. She attended Pine Grove Holy Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband: Cecil D. Steele, her parents, a daughter: Shirley Ann Steele, and a brother: Edward Prater.
Survivors include;
Two Sons:
Ricky Steele (Kathy Sharp) and
Phillip Steele (Debbie Steele)
One Daughter:
Debbie Heatherly (Randy Heatherly)
Two Brothers:
Howell Prater and
Danny Prater
Five Grandchildren:
Carey Heatherly, Andrew Heatherly, Bridget Fields, Shane Steele and Patrick Cheatham.
Eight Great Grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Carey Heatherly, Andrew Heatherly, Shane Steele, Patrick Cheatham, Jason Fields, Alex Resurreccion and Kenny Sanford.
