Evelyn Orr English, age 63, of Florence, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012. Her family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Florence, Central Heights. Her funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Wade Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Rhodesville Cemetery.
Mrs. English was a native of Lauderdale County. She served as activities director for Volunteers of America. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Edward English; her son, William Allen English; five brothers; one sister; mother, Stella Baskins Orr; and father, Louie Orr.
She is survived be her daughter, April Ann Smith, of Florence; brothers, Bobby Orr, of Florence, and George Bedwell Orr, of Macon, Ga.; sister, Helen Stages, of Dover, Fla.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and best friend and partner, Jeff Tumlinson.
Pallbearers are Kenneth English, Robert English, Mark Bullion, Ricky Gist, Troy Gibbs and John Johnson.
The family extends special thanks to Florence Nursing and Rehab, Southern Care Hospice and to friends Jean, Ann, Sarah, Paula, Betty, Ann and Lisa for the care and compassion for Mrs. English.
