Evelyn Laverne Stewart Horton, 79 of Arab passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, at her residence. Evelyn was born April 3, 1943, in Blount County the daughter of J. C. Stewart and Bernice Ilene Underwood Stewart. She was a graduate of the Class of 1962 of J.B. Pennington High School.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Stephen L. Horton; daughter: Gwendolyn “Wendy” Horton; son: Stephen Wesley Horton; sisters: Bonnie Frost and Janice Smith; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: J. C. and Bernice Stewart, brothers: Curtis Ray “Buddy” Stewart and James Arlin Stewart.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Gober Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Blountsville with Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
