Evelyn Inez Guerin Cox born in Aubry, Arkansas on November 22, 1926. She died on December 22, 2024.She was preceded in death by her husband M.J. Cox, her father Edd Guerin, mother Beulah Gipson Guerin, her brother Edd Guerin Jr., her sister Barbara Guerin Taylor and daughter-in-law Nancy Rowe Cox.
She was the mother of four children Melleny Cox Pritchett, Michael Cox, Jerry Wade Cox (Judith Nichols Cox), James Edwin Cox. She had ten Grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
Evelyn was a life long member of Wears Chapel Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching a Sunday school class. She enjoyed quilting for her grandchildren and planting vegetables and flowers of different varieties. She had one flower that she cherished because her sister Barbara smuggled it out of Hawaii in her bra.
Evelyn had recently moved to Auburn to be near her youngest son and grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
You may visit with the family on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, AL 35811. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00am in Valhalla’s Celebration Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Valhalla Memory Gardens immediately following services.
