  Obituary of Evelyn Claire Rountree BournEvelyn Claire Rountree Bourn, age 62, of Decatur, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

A visitation for Evelyn will be held Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home, 741 Danville RD. SW. Decatur, AL 35601, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM with Clay Osburn officiating.

 

Claire is survived by her three children Grayson (Victoria) Bourn, Sarah (Sammy) Dawkins, and Adam Bourn, grandchildren Wyatt, Lincoln, and Rose as well as her mother Peggy Wipperman, and brother Clarke (Jennie) Rountree, and sister Kristi (Mark) McLanahan, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Terry Bourn, and her father Clarke Rountree.

Claire attended Austin High School in Decatur before starting a career as a welder, where she met her future husband Terry. After getting married, she devoted her life to raising her three children and starting her own small business in Killen Alabama. She was a loving mother to her children and every friend of theirs that passed through the door to her home. She was generous to everyone and would go out of her way to help a stranger in need. Claire loved singing, playing music, reading and spending time with her family. Claire was always quick to smile and laugh despite the circumstance of life. Her smile and laugh will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

Those serving as honorary pall bears will be Mark McClanahan, Josh Rountree, John Rountree, Scott McLanahan, Johnny Stephenson, Steve Nixon, and Craig Wipperman.
