Evalene Uptain Herron, age 86 of Oakman, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Ridgewood Nursing Home.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Oakman Central Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Friday, July 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakman Central Baptist Church, with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Joe Daniels will officiate.
Mrs. Herron was preceded in death by her Father-Estel Uptain; Mother-Tilda Willcutt Uptain; Son-Randy Joe Herron; Husband-Alfred Herron; Brothers-William Uptain, Huel Uptain and James Uptain; Sisters-Pearl Kilgore and Arlene Jones.
She is survived by her Daughter-Linda Herron Woods (James); Daughter-in-law-Nell Herron; Son-Kenneth Herron (Myra); Sister-Dorthy Uptain Farmer; Brothers-Roger Upton and Melvin Uptain; Grandchildren-Angela Cone, Stephanie Roberts, Melissa Odom, Stephen Blackston and Jerry Blackston; Great Grandchildren-Phillip Cone, Lauren Roberts, Ryan Roberts and Matthew Odom; Special Friends-Leon and Marie Gant, Alice Kelly and Judy Kilgore; Host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sam Hood, Leon Gant, Mac Lollar, Billy Beck, David Hood and David Hood, Jr.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Hospital.
