Eva Sue Gay, 83, of Ripley passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Ripley Healthcare and Rehab after a long duration of Parkinson’s Disease and other heath issues. Visitation will begin at 12 PM Tuesday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley with funeral services to follow at 2 PM. Interment will be in Mary’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Gay worked along with her late husband Wayne Gay as the owners of Stanley’s Kitchen. She also worked in the deli department of E.W. James. She was also a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter Delaine Henson (Stan) of Ripley; 2 sons Jerry Gay (Toni) of Ripley and Keith Gay (Susan) of Ringgold, GA; 2 sisters Joyce Ruth Jessup of Covington and Mary Jean Cannon of Ripley; 2 brothers Charles Newman of Plainfield, IL and David Newman of Ripley; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Letha Jewel Newman Floyd and a brother William “Billy” Darrell Newman.
Most importantly Eva Sue was a child of God and a prayer warrior. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
