Eva Ruth Curington, 85, of Russellville, AL was born on March 27, 1937, and passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Visitation will be Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Jerry Erwin, Rayburn Lansdell, and Sue Waters will be officiating. Burial will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia, AL. Her life ended in the most beautiful, peaceful and hopeful way possible.

She was a member of Shoals Church of Christ.

She had humble but loving beginnings in Town Creek, Alabama with her parents and six siblings.  She lived a rich and full life with a deep faith in Christ and a deep love for her family and friends.

Her life journey allowed her and her husband Eulice to raise five children of Faith, have a rewarding teaching career, and cultivate many deep relationships.  She was blessed to experience many other parts of the world, but Alabama was always home to her.

She has a large circle of family and friends that will miss her dearly.  She touched many hearts.  They all represent her greatest achievement of community.

She loved to travel. She engaged in many international mission efforts. Her favorite hobby was shopping.

She felt deeply blessed by God in the amazing life she was given.  She often expressed her profound gratitude for all those who blessed her life.  We all join in thankfulness for all those who have given her so many blessings in her life, especially in her final season.

We have full expectation that she will see all those she loves again.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Loretta Lansdell; husband, Eulice Curington, brother, Clyde Lansdell; brother-in-law, Doug Aycock, and nephew, Joey Lansdell.

She is survived by her sons, Eulice Curington (Wanda), Trussie Curington, and Norm Curington; daughters, Blyth Corey (Scott) and Yuvonia Mardis; brothers, Earl Lansdell, Max Lansdell, Price Lansdell, and Eugene Lansdell; sister, Patricia Aycock; grandchildren, Michael (Diana) Corey, Daniel (Kelley), Corey, Nathan (Tinja) Corey, Rachel (Mark) Pizzato, Michael Curington, Mark (Lindsey) Curington, Keith Mardis, Kevin Kuilboer Curington; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Corey, Daniel Corey, Nathan Corey, Michael Curington, Mark Curington, Keith Mardis, and Rachel Corey.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manna Globel Ministries or Cornerstone Church of Christ Missions, Florence, AL.
