Mrs. Eva Pulliam Derrick, age 76, of Saulsbury, departed this life Monday morning, November 28, 2016 at her home
A native of Saulsbury, she was born February 1, 1940, to Claude Pulliam, Sr. and Nellie Mae Vandiver Pulliam, both of whom preceded her in death. She worked for Nationwide Insurance in Memphis for 33 years, retiring as a supervisor. After her retirement, she worked for Hickory Valley Grocery, where she enjoyed talking with all the farmers who would come in. In her spare time, she liked to work in her yard and garden, but received her greatest pleasure from being around her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Young of Saulsbury; 3 grandchildren, James Curtis Young, Justin Matthew Young and Bobby Allen Young; and 3 great grandchildren, Blake, Tracy and Jacob. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Christeve Hensley and a brother, Claude Pulliam, Jr. The family requests memorial donations in her name be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org/donate).
