Eva Nell Stutts George was born October 19, 1942 in Michie, TN the daughter of the late Eula D. and Nellie Jane Goff Stutts.
She was united in marriage to Edward Franklin George on November 3, 1962. Mr. George preceded her in death on November 11, 2020, following 58 years of marriage.
Mrs. George worked for 15 years as a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service in Memphis. After retiring in 1992 she returned to McNairy County with her husband Edward where they made their home in the Adamsville community. Mrs. George was also a hairdresser, working out of her home and doing hair for family and friends. Gardening, shopping, and going out to eat with friends and family were some of her favorite activities. Mrs. George was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Memphis.
Mrs. George departed this life on January 14, 2023 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 80 Years, 2 Months, 26 Days. She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Yates of Jackson, MO and Audine Rickman of Michie, TN; a brother, Ray V. Stutts and wife Sinda of Michie, TN; a special friend, caregiver, and daughter of the heart, Emma Phillips of Nashville, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. George was preceded in death by four sisters: Laura Mae Hill, Wilma Ruth Lewis, Ernestine Graves, and Louise Jackson, and two brothers, Billy Eugene Stutts and L. D. (Joe) Stutts.
