Eva Nell Horton, 86, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024, at her home.
Eva was born March 2, 1938, in Como, Tx in their family home to Mother, Inez Harris Howle and Father Jessie D “Jake” Howle. She was a beloved staple to the Ardmore community through her Christian fellowship and self-started business: Eva’s Treasure Chest, which she used as a witness for her testimony and business for 23 years. She was a faithful member of Ardmore First Baptist church and loved her church family.
She was proceeded in death by her mother and father. Daughters Carol Jane Horton, Jaqueline Sue Horton, and son William Charles Horton.
Surviving to carry her memory are her two sisters: Geraldine Howle Jeanes and Connie Campbell. Her daughter Jessica Jean Horton. Grandchildren: James Cody Hargrove, Amanda Jackson Patterson, and Jory Ray Jackson. Great grandchildren: Anna Grace Hargrove and James Douglas Hargrove. Many nieces, nephews and cousins and the church family and community she dearly loved.
There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama. A Funeral Service is scheduled the following day, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with service time beginning at 10:30 AM. Bro. Alan Hughes and Bro. Rick Shannon will be officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the 1st Baptist Church of Ardmore Children’s Ministry.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral home will be assisting with services.
