Eva Gail Hughes Brooks Profile PhotoEva Gail Hughes Brooks, 69, died Monday, January 8, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.  The family will visit with friends Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.

She was born on August 6, 1954 in Joliet, Illinois to the late Clarence “Bill” Hughes and the late Lily Ruth Cain Hughes.  On September 25, 1985 she married Jerry W. Brooks who preceded her in death on October 7, 2007.  Mrs. Brooks was retired from Xerox and was a member of Odd Fellows Hall Church of Christ.

Survivors include three children, Chris (Tiffiny) Sharp of Columbia, Dana (Scotty) Morton of Columbia and Heather (Eric) Shore of Culleoka; a sister, Sherrie McClure of Pulaski; twenty grandchildren, Kayla (Wesley) Todd, Bailey (Ryan Isbell) Sharp, John Micheal Sharp, Monica (Heath) Garner, Brianna Sharp, Haley Sharp, Andrea Brymer, Tito Martinez, Juan Martinez, Colbe (Ryan) Smith, Tyler Rochelle, Jacob Tucker, William Barrett Shore, Jacob (McKenzie) Morton, Brandon Morton, David Morton, Josh Morton, Zack Morton, Lane Morton, and Westin Morton; and twenty two great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, John Scott Sharp and Mark Christopher Brooks; a brother, Wendell Cain Hughes; and a granddaughter, Chena Martinez.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Isbell, Jason Scott, Sean Carpenter, Tristian Begley, Tito Martinez and Justin McClure. Honorary pallbearers will Members of Odd Fellows Hall Church of Christ.
