Eva Corene Thornton, 91, of Athens , Alabama passed away September 13, 2021 in Athens, Alabama. She was born on November 3, 1929 in Limestone County , Alabama to Vadis Thornton and Ruth Malone Thornton.
Ms. Corene was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She volunteered at the Senior citizen Center in Ardmore, enjoyed all activities at Athens/Limestone Health Facility and loved children.
Eva is survived by her sisters, Josephine (Frank) Solomon, Barbara (Benny) Birdsong and Ann Patterson; sister-in-law, Martha Thornton; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margie (Walter) Birdwell, brothers, Curtis Thornton and William Thornton; niece Susan Birdwell Johnson.
Graveside Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11 AM at Bottoms Cemetery, Athens, Alabama with Bro. Jamie Mitchell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Steve Kelley, Lee Bradford, Kevin Johnston, Cameron Johnston, Josh Johnston, Brandon Johnston, Fred Lane and Greg Solomon.
Special thanks to Lee Bradford a son to Ms. Corene and Athens Limestone Health Facility. Ms. Corene loved her nurses helpers and all the staff.
