Eunice Mann Walker, 91, of Haleyville, entered into rest Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Decatur General Hospital.

Mrs. Walker was born on December 31, 1923. She was a member of South Haleyville Church of Christ for 35 years and Falkville Church of Christ in recent years. Eunice was a homemaker, mother, and wife. She loved sewing, gardening, traveling, and reading. She was married in 1942 and became a United States Air Force wife, who traveled across the country to several states and to Japan. She “held down the fort” at home while her husband served in World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 12-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2pm. Vance Hutton will officiate. Burial will follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.

Eunice is survived by her son, Terriel Wade (Sue) Walker; daughters, Paula Herring and Rhonda (Darrell) Harris. She was “Mama Walker” or “Grandmama” to 5 grandchildren, Sheree Jacobs, Heather Walker, Rand Harris, Jenna Herring, Jordan Herring, and 2 great grandchildren, Josh Jacobs and Aldrin Harris.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cleslie Walker; parents, John Albert and Emma Harris Mann; brothers, Henry Mann, Grady Mann; sisters, Eula Mays and Essie Burleson.
