Funeral services for Eunice Aleene Burney-Allred will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 3rd at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. Jimmy Sawyer and Lloyd Harris will be officiating. Visitation for the public will be on Wednesday, August 2nd at Hanceville Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Mrs. Allred was born on November 15, 1928, to the late Jesse and Dora (Hale) Burney. She passed away at her home on July 29, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Allred; sons Ronald Wayne Bentley and Gary Allred; four sisters; and five brothers.
Aleene was a loving wife and mother and woman of many talents. She enjoyed painting and was a successful owner and operator of Bentley Skating Rink until the early 1970’s and later became owner and operator of Heritage Florist before retirement.
She was a member of Hanceville First Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. After she was unable to attend church on a regular basis, she used social media to bring inspiration and encouragement to many people.
Survivors include Barbara (Charles) Wilson and Donald (Pat) Bentley; grandchildren, Derek (Lauren) Bentley, Kenneth (Kim) Bentley, Sara Poe, and Kim (Terry) Searcy; great grandchildren, Kristen (Ameliah) Dawson, Drake Bentley, Kaylee Searcy, Jordan Bentley, Adeline Bentley, and Katlyn Wherly; great-great grandchildren, Ryker Bentley, and Aspen Bentley.
Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Bentley, Kenny Bentley, Drake Bentley, Jordan Bentley, Randy Bentley, and Terry Eubanks.
