Eula Mae Chattin peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. at the age of 92.
Mae was born on April 26, 1931, in Hattiesburg, MS, the daughter of the late Heidle R and Laura Appleberry Anderson.
After marrying in 1949, Mae and David made their home in Philadelphia Pa. where they started their family. In 1969 Dave was offered the opportunity to move to Jackson, Tn. to open and run a new metal stamping facility for Paul and Beekman. Mae worked side by side with Dave dedicating many years of her life to her work as the office manager. Her commitment and expertise were valued by the company throughout her tenure.
Outside of work, Mae developed a love for bowling. She first started in Philadelphia with a women’s church league. Quickly falling in love with the sport, she had David bowling with her in a mixed league. Her love for and success in the sport culminated in her induction into the Memphis Area Bowling Hall of Fame this past July.
In addition to her impressive professional achievements, Mae was known for her kind nature and compassionate spirit. She touched the lives of those around her with her warm smile and genuine care for others.
The family joined St. Luke’s Episcopal church upon moving to Jackson, and Mae was a member of the church up to her passing.
Mae is survived by her loving son, David Chattin and wife Brenda of Jackson, TN, and her devoted daughter Barbara Gilbert and husband Ronald of Ocilla GA. She will also be remembered by her four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and 10 siblings, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband David Martin Chattin Sr. in 1985.
Services: Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Mae on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. and continue until 2:00 p.m. With the service beginning at 2:00 pm.
Throughout her life, Mae brought joy to all those she encountered. Her legacy as a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
