Mrs. Eula Denton Pate, age 92, of Columbia, TN, died Sunday, December 14, 2014. Eula was born Sept. 28, 1922 to Samuel Posey and Sally Lou Dennis Denton. At the young age of 15 she met the love of her life, James Wesley Pate II. They were married by the time she was 16 and spent 69 wonderful years together and never missed a chance to dance. She was a member of Christ Church in Columbia, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 2007 and son, Jerry Samuel Pate, Sr. in 2004.
Mrs. Pate is survived by a daughter, Robbie Ann (James) Carrington of Columbia, TN; son, James Wesley (Brenda) Pate III of Hendersonville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Debbie (Jerry) Smartt, Doug (Patsy) Carrington, Tommy (Michelle) Carrington, Sammy (Jenefer) Pate, Stephen (Dana) Pate, Michael Pate; 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 4 PM – 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM, Thursday, December 18, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Ward Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Hardison Cemetery in Maury County, TN.
Pateon Parker, Tommy Carrington, Sammy Pate, Doug Carrington, Stephen Pate, Michael Pate, Spencer Parker, and Hayden Pate will serve as Pallbearers.
