Eugene Anthony Barone age 74 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Huntsville Hospital E.R. Mr. Barone was born November 24, 1938 in New Haven, CT to Eugene Barone and Evelyn Gagliardi.
He is preceded in death by his father and birth mother Evelyn Gagliardi and by his adopted mother, Anna Barone.
Services for Mr. Barone are Monday, February 18, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Father Charles Alookaran and Rev. L.Z. Johnson officiating.
He was proud of his Italian heritage and was a member of Sons of Italy Order. He was of the Catholic faith. He loved music and loved to travel. He was an avid NY Yankees baseball fan.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Barone; sister, Evelyn Patrick; 3 nieces; a host of wonderful friends and family. He had a special place in his heart for his two beloved dachshunds.
