Ethel Myrtle Inman, age 100, was a beloved mother and grandmother. She peacefully departed from this world on March 7, 2025 at Country Cottage Lawrenceburg.

 

Ethel, a long-time resident of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, was born July 26, 1924 in Gastonia, North Carolina. She was a devoted member of the Flatwoods Church of Christ and the Crawfish Valley Community. After retiring from Salant & Salant, she worked alongside her husband in the family business, Inman Dry Cleaners.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur Amos and Myrtle Ethel Short; her husband of 61 years: James William “Junior” Inman; and four brothers: Daniel Warren Short, Van Arthur Short, Clarence L. “Pete” Short, and Millard Henry “Jim” Short.

 

She is survived by her three daughters: Sharon Ann Snyder, Kathy Sue Doerflinger, and Malinda Kay (Tim) Fisher; four grandchildren: Andrea Lee Ezell, Erica Renee Doerflinger, Christopher Brian (Tiffany) Fisher, and Timothy Michael Fisher; six great-grandchildren: Anna Elizabeth (Riley) Bosheers, Nellie Kate Ezell, Braxton Chase Fisher, Rylan James Fisher, Landon Lee Fisher, and Bentley Michael Fisher; two great-great-grandchildren: Charlie Bosheers and Saylor Rose Fisher. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, step family Aubree and Mac Bosheers, and step family Logan Birdyshaw and his children, Ayden and Marlee; and Abbie Birdyshaw and her daughter, Anelise Wood.

 

Ethel cherished her family and friends and enjoyed preparing big meals for family gatherings. She was devoted to her family, studying her Bible, and being part of the Flatwoods Ladies Bible Class. Those who knew her have been left with many loving and lasting memories. She will be dearly missed.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Country Cottage and Gentiva Hospice.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2025, with Danny Tice officiating. Interment will follow at John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
