Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Mae Parker, age 77, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 AM until service time.
Ethel Mae Franks Parker was born on August 22, 1946 in Collinwood, TN to the late Ralph and Lillie Mae Franks. Known by many names…GMA, Sissy, Cornelia and Nelia; Ethel accepted Jesus Christ as her lord and savior as a young child at Latham’s Baptist Church. Later she became a member of Smyrna Baptist Church.
She retired from Porter Cable after many years of service and loved to be outside working in her yard and flowers.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Max Parker; and a brother, James Franks.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Mike) Trull of Albany, GA and Laura (Kevin) Stone of Humboldt; a sister, Kathy (Larry) Erwin of Lavinia; two brothers, John Jr (Brenda) Franks and Hobert Franks both of Medina; five grandsons, Jon (Tasha) Murphy of Denver, CO, Cody (Connie) Bishop of Gibson, Joseph (Franklin) Trull of Albany, GA, Matthew Trull of Albany, GA and Tyler (Robin)Trull of Manchester, CT; and one great grandson, Cayde Bishop of Gibson.
She left a multitude of nieces, nephews and bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved very much.
She loved everyone and always helped people. She donated to several of charities. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
