Ethel Mae Brewster, age 86 of the Tucker’s Chapel community, passed away at her home Friday, August 18, 2023. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook, gardener and talented quilt maker. Her greatest joy was her family. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2023 at Tucker’s Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Killian officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the 1 p.m. hour of service at the church.
Pallbearers will include Brennan Bobo, Jeff Bobo, Larry Brewster, Ronald Duncan, Jimmy Dale Hawkins, and Jacob Nelson.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Ray Brewster; children, Larry Brewster (Nancy), and Regina Rowland; grandchildren, Tonya Bobo (Jeff), Brandi Brewster, and Leslie Ann Rowland; great-grandchildren, Brennan Bobo and Emily Nelson (Jacob); brothers, Don Goodwin and James Goodwin (Phyllis); sisters, Jean Camp (James), Mildred Duncan (Ronald) and Jerol Kendall; and her adored dogs, Bella and Sam.
She was preceded in death by her son, Danny Brewster; parents, William and Flossie Goodwin; daughter-in-law, Susan Brewster, son-in-law, Bobby Rowland; brother, Horace Goodwin; sisters, Mary Ruth Butler and Gladys Templeton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tucker’s Chapel Cemetery Fund.
