Funeral service for Etha Terry “Polly” Carr, age 95, of Decatur, will be Friday, September 25, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with Mark Posey officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Mrs. Carr, who died Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at her residence, was born July 15, 1920, in Lawrence County, to Edward Terry and Dewey Thompson Terry. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward “Bill” Carr, one brother, Elba Terry, and one sister, Esther Terry. Mrs. Carr attended Austinville Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynda Holbert of Decatur; one brother, Elmon Terry of Atlanta, GA; and one granddaughter, Amelia Holbert Adams of Madison.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
