FLORENCE-On December 6, 2023, officers responded to a domestic call in the 100 block of
Park Circle. The complainant advised the suspect had left in a vehicle. On the way to
the residence, officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle and the diver attempted to elude
them. After a short vehicle pursuit, the driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran on foot.
He was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The suspect was identified as Reginald
Neil Freeman, 41 years of age from Tuscumbia. After further investigation it was
determined Freeman had previously kicked in the door and entered his ex-girlfriend’s
residence where he damaged multiple items.
Freeman was transported to the Florence Police Department to talk to
investigators. While waiting on the interview, Freeman was able to escape the
department via an unlocked door to an interview room.
Multiple warrants, including Escape, were taken out on Freeman. Yesterday,
Tuesday, January 30, 2024, members of the US Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent
Offenders Task Force apprehended Freeman without incident in Muscle Shoals.
Freeman was charged with:
Domestic Burglary 2nd degree
Domestic Violence Criminal Mischief 3rd degree
Attempting to Elude a Police Officer
Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree
Escape 3rd degree
Freeman is being held on a $40,500.00 bond. Reginald Neil Freeman is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
