Today we celebrate the life of Ervin Darty, “29”. A beloved father, pawpaw, and great grand pawpaw. Ervin was a hard working man. He worked his entire life mining coal. When he had time off he was never really off, he was painting someone’s house, always something to keep himself busy. Ervin was an honest man, a fair man, if he did for one he had to do for all, if he couldn’t, he wouldn’t. Right was right and wrong was wrong, he didn’t believe it to be any other way.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Darty; father, Alex Darty; his beloved son, Ronald Darty, and his son in law Chad Moon.
Ervin is survived by his daughter, Teresa; grand daughters, Brittney and Haley, great grand daughter, Alaina; a very special friend, Roselie Nelson, their daughters, Crystal and Brandy and son John; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren they shared; as well as his only surviving sister, Loretta, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Erwin will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home, Dora Alabama beginning at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery.
