Ernestine Rosenbaum Ernestine Rosenbaum (Erny) peacefully went to her heavenly home on November 3, 2023, at NMMC-Pontotoc Nursing Home. She was a remarkable individual who played various roles in her lifetime-a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and great grandmother, caring sister and sister-in-law, cherished aunt, and a guiding mentor to countless.

From 1961, Erny devoted her dedication to First Choice Bank for an impressive span of 55 years. She began as an employee, climbed the corporate ladder, eventually retiring as Vice President and esteemed branch manager. Erny had an array of talents that included painting, gardening, sewing, and selflessly serving her community.

Erny played a pivotal role in the revitalization of the community house and the starting of the multi- million-dollar sports complex in Pontotoc. Her actions showcased her unwavering commitment to her community. However, one of her greatest joys stemmed from her service at West Heights Baptist Church. She firmly believed her spiritual gift was the act of serving others which she wholeheartedly demonstrated each day. As the church hostess, she coordinated Wednesday evening meals and numerous other activities.

Tending to her roses and flower gardens brought Erny immense joy. She used her talents of flower arrangements to bring beauty to weddings she organized and catered. Sports also held a special place in Erny’s heart, as her husband, Charlie, devoted 31 years to coaching. Her two daughters were raised among the excitement of bouncing on a big yellow school bus, traveling from one game to another. Her unwavering support also extended into her love for Ole Miss basketball. Nonetheless, her greatest joy was her five grandchildren. The chaos of their playful energy was heightened when her two nephews joined the mix, creating a lively atmosphere of seven.

Erny is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Charles Rosenbaum and together they were blessed with two daughters, Angie Warren Spencer (Lee) of Brandon, MS and Staci Rosenbaum of Pontotoc. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Stringer (Weston) of Ellisville, Matthew Lee Spencer (Lindsey) of Katy, TX, Adam Craig Rosenbaum (Santana) of Pontotoc, Anna Rosenbaum of Baldwyn, MS, and William Rosenbaum of Pontotoc. She is also survived by one sister, Sherry Russell (Steve), eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents,Frank and Elsie Cruse, and one brother-in-law.

Erny demonstrated her devotion to the Lord in all her endeavors. Her favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13, held a special place in her heart, and believed John 3:16, the very first verse she memorized, remained profoundly significant today. Her legacy was to be known as a strong Christian, a strong person, and a person committed to serving others.
