Services For Ernest Reed Ruh age 86 of Fayetteville, Tennessee will be conducted Saturday October 23, 2021 at 4PM at Northside Christian Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mr. Ruh passed away October 16, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Ruh was born December 18, 1934 to the late Walter A. Ruh Sr. and Lucretia L. (Little) Ruh in Lexington Kentucky. He attended the University of Kentucky and served in the United States Air Force. He became a draftsman moving to Knoxville, Tennessee working for Barber McMurry Architects and then co-founding Ruh and Pressley Construction Company. He worked throughout his career in both residential and commercial construction. As one of the early members of Northside Christian Church, he was active in the choir as an avid singer of Christian hymns. After moving to Fayetteville, Tennessee he joined the Hazel Green United Methodist Church and was an active volunteer at the Huntsville Assistance Program (HAP) House in North Madison County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sue Hopson and his brother, Walter A. Ruh Jr. He is survived by his son, Richard Ruh (Anne); daughter, Marjorie Ruh Jones (Steve); son, Walter Ruh (Ramona). In addition he has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday October 23, 2021 3-4 PM at Northside Christian Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Huntsville Assistance Program.
