Ernest Lee Hughes, age 91 of Prospect, passed away Wednesday February 23, 2022 at NHC Pulaski. Ernest was born February 10, 1931 to the late John Ed and Beatrice L. Griggs Hughes. He was a United States Marine Veteran, member of First Baptist Church, and retired from Murray Ohio after 30yrs. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Aurgine Hughes, sisters Ruthie Hughes, Birdie Lee Oakley, and grandson Brian Woods. Visitation will be Saturday February 26, 2022 from 11am to 1pm at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with Funeral to follow at 1pm. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 70 years Ople Hughes of Prospect, daughter Deborah Woods of Prospect, granddaughter Bridget McMasters, great grandchildren Brooke Hargrove, Garrett White, brothers-in-laws Bobby Powell and wife Jeanette of Prospect, Owen Powell and wife Darla, numerous nieces and nephews.
