Ernest Gene Clark, age 74 of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Franklin County on June 20, 1946 to the late Herbert Wade and Nannie Mae (Walker) Clark. Ernest served his country in the United States Army. Before his retirement, he was employed as a carpenter by Sain Construction. In his spare time, Ernest enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, spending time outdoors, and watching Nascar car races as well as westerns. He was a dedicated member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas Clark, Ruthie Smith, Robert Clark, Irene Clark, Karen Judge Wood, Flossie Sanders, Helen West, and Katherine Bailey. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Isbell Clark of Decherd; children, Jeffrey (Tonya) Clark and Tina (Jim) Sanders, both of Decherd; grandchildren, Chynne Fults, Raquel Fults, Thaddaeus Blackburn, Melodie Sanders, Bobby (Kelly) Sanders, and Bradley Sanders; and great-grandchildren, Jathon Sanders, Jordan Sanders, Gabbi Sanders, and Blaklynn Sanders. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev.
