Ernest Eugene Sons passed away August 10, 2015, after an extended illness. Services will be at Ridout’s Brown Funeral home, Decatur, August 13, 2015, with visitation at 1 o’clock and service to follow at 2 o’clock with Brother Gary Patton officiating. A private burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery following the service. Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Nancy Sons, two sisters, Ethel Lynn (Jack) Norris and Vancy Leigh (Harold) Lentz and his wife of 65 years, Thelma (French)Sons. He leaves behind two daughters: Eugenia (Ronnie) Holland and Teresa Gasque both of Muscle Shoals, four grandchildren: Tristan Holland, Muscle Shoals, Wesley (Marisa) Holland, Lake View, AL, Thomas (Katelyn) Gasque, Huntsville, AL and Britany Gasque, Knoxville, TN and one great grandchild, Isaac Gasque, Huntsville, AL. He was a faithful member of the Somerville Road Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to Hospice of the Shoals in his memory. www.hospiceoftheshoals.org
