earnestErnest Eugene “Sonny” Pressley, 81, long term resident of Decatur, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home in Langley, OK on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Mr. Pressley was a Sr. Project Manager, and retired with Fluor Daniels. Sonny was a veteran of the Korean War – MPC Co C 728th MP Bn; lifetime member of VFW Post 4190; 50 year member of the Lodge of the Rising Sun and member of Elks Lodge of Decatur. His employees stated that Sonny was highly respected and the best leader they had ever worked for.
Mr. Pressley is survived by his sisters, Virginia Kinder, of Langley, OK and Margaret Cain, of McAllen, TX, and many loving nieces and nephews. Also stepdaughters, Teddy Rogers, of Decatur, Suzette DeMent, of San Antonio, TX, Kellye Sparks, of Steele, AL and Stacye Chen, of Monmouth, New Jersey. He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey E. Pressley and his parents, Guy and Sadie Pressley, of Liberty, S. C. and seven brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, May 12 2015, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. A time of visitation will be Monday, May 11, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Sempsrott officiating. Burial will at Roselawn Cemetery.
The family extends sincerest thanks to great-nephew, Charlie Burns for giving so much of himself to provide the care and attention Sonny required.
