Erie Lee Pounders, age 87 of Tuscumbia, died Thursday, November 8, 2012. Visitation will be Saturday, 12:30 until 2: p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Sam Wallace and Bro. Richard McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mrs. Pounders was a native of Franklin County and a member of Crooked Oak Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Pounders; her parents, Henry and Elizabeth James; and four sisters, Vivian Abt, Nell Hester, Emma Jean Oliver, Jerri Lindsey and brother, Belton James.
She is survived by three sons; Michael Pounders and wife Joan of Cherokee, David Pounders and wife Charlotte of Leighton, Phillip Pounders and wife Joy of Tuscumbia; five grand-daughters, Pam Welborn, Devona Denton, Stacy Roberts, Kimberly Richardson, Melissa Pounders; five great grandchildren; Alana Posey, Jordan Denton, Tyler Richardson, Justin Roberts and Paige Roberts; one great great grandson, Caleb Denton and special friend, Ann Hovater.
Pallbearers are Dwayne Roberts, Ricky Richardson, Jordan Denton, Roger Denton and Dwight Jones.
