Erie Frances Mitchell Adams, 84, born in Buchanan, Virginia, on March 10, 1933, now of Somerville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 5, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Linnie Cole Mitchell; daughters, Rebecca Adams, Joyce Connors and Brenda Burress; granddaughters, Christy Adams Vinson and Melissa Whitt Moon.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry Adams and wife, Patty, Tommy Adams and wife, Catherine, and David Adams and wife, Jennifer; two daughters, Anne Whitt and husband, Victor, and Kathy Mitchell and husband, Randy; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Mabel Brown and two brothers, Andy Mitchell and Otto Mitchell.
Grandsons Jamie Whitt, Amos Mitchell, Andy Mitchell, Bodie Adams, Clyde Burress, Thomas Adams and Donovan Case will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, in the Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Taylor and Reverend Equator Black officiating. Burial will be in Center Spings Cemetery in Somerville. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
