Empress McGee Wilson – Obituary

EmpressMrs. Empress McGee Wilson, age 83, of Killen, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013.
The visitation will begin at noon Monday at the Killen Church of Christ. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with Stan Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluewater Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson graduated from Mars Hill Bible School in 1948 and was a lifetime member of the Killen Church of Christ.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed making beautiful quilts and sharing them with friends and family.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by two sons, Rex Wilson and wife Sally of Nashville, Tenn., and Jeff Wilson and wife Sandra of Killen; grandchildren, Ben (Jaime) Wilson of Huntsville, Lee (Joanna) Wilson of Springhill, Tenn., and Joshua (Kelli) Wilson of Tampa, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Parker, Oliver, Jacob, Tyler, Bailey and Jameson Wilson, and Tayla Howard; nieces and nephews, Jim, John and Mitchell McGee, Don Wilson, Dwight Tays and Nina Schneible.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wilson; father and mother, Ben and Omie McGee; and brothers, Ralph and Billy McGee.
Elders of the church will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Mars Hill Scholarship Fund.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hilltop Assisted Living of Florence for their love, kindness and excellent care shown to mother.
Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
