Emogene Washington Goode, 89, of Pontotoc, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Magnolia Manor of Tupelo. She was born on July 29, 1935, to Billy Thomas and UV Ritchie Washington in Pontotoc County, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald Zinn Goode, Sr.; both of her parents; her younger sister Deborah “Debbie” May; and her daughter-in-law, Joy Goode.
She dearly loved her family, including many close cousins. She loved the Lord and attended West Heights Baptist Church or the Chapel at Magnolia Manor as her health allowed. She loved her community and spoke well of her neighbors. She will be missed by all.
Survivors include her son, Donald “Don” Z. Goode, Jr.; her daughter, Charlotte Frederick (Jeff); three grandchildren: Jennifer Arnold (Bryan), Caleb Frederick (Ellen), Julie Frederick; six great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Jeff May; and her niece and nephews.
Emogene will have a private graveside service at Pontotoc City Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc assisted the family.
