Emma Keffer was born September 12, 1935, to Fred and Lottie Abbott in Morrisville, WV. Emma was married to James Keffer since April 4, 1954, and he preceded her in death in 2001. Emma was a true military wife. Her and her family moved whenever her husband was called to a new post. She raised four children while he served in the U. S. Navy for 25 years. Emma was one of ten children, all siblings have passed with the exception of the youngest, Eloise Thompson. Emma and Eloise had a special bond.
She had four children, Charlene (Charlee) Franklin Howell (John), David Keffer (Vicky), Terry Keffer (deceased) and Randy Keffer. She had eight grandchildren, Chris Franklin (deceased), Nicholas Franklin, Adam Keffer Chandler (Aly), Kathleen Keffer, Karoline Keffer, Maverick Keffer, Matthew Keffer and Sarah Walters (Ryan). Emma also had five great grandchildren, Hailey Franklin, Emma Kelly, Alivia Chandler, Andrew Chandler and Asher Chandler.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with interment to follow in Faith Memorial Park.
