Emma Jo Allgood, 85, of Ripley passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2024, at her grandson’s home surrounded by her closest family. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6 to 8pm at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley, TN. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Sunday, May 19 at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley, Tn. Following will be her burial at Marys Chapel Cemetery in Ripley, TN, and her fellowship at her grandson’s home, 1801 Butner Road in Ripley, TN.
Emma Jo, born and raised in Barr, TN, was a hardworking, great cooking, and faithful family lady. She loved taking care of and being with her family, enjoying her friends, and all of this was her entire world.
She is survived by her seven grandchildren, Jeffery Lee (Kelley) Northcott, Kristy Northcott Downer, Matthew (Trina) Northcott, Callie (Lauren) Glover, Krisinda (Brad) Bolin, Stephanie Glover, and Joe Glover, two step daughters, Connie Reiersen and Donna Shirey, 10 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Elmer (Monk) Northcott and Dewitt Allgood, two sons, Jeffery Arthur Northcott and Thomas Lynn (Tommy) Northcott, one daughter, Tina Jo Northcott, one grandson, Michael Thomas Northcott, one stepson, Randy Allgood, three brothers, Leamond Arthur, Ronald (Pete) Arthur, and Rufus Arthur, and one sister, Sarah Gay Vaughn.
Emma Jo’s pallbearers include most of her favorite men, and are Jeffery Lee Northcott, Mitchell Hunter Downer (Honorary), Daniel Adam Northcott, Holden Lee Haynes, Danny Hartsfield, Brad Bolin, Glen Arthur, Jody Arthur, and Justin Pilkington.
